Entrance Requirements
Parents Morning Out: 6 weeks—24 months. Children must be 6 weeks old by Sept. 1 st of the school year.
2 year old classes: Children must turn 2 by September 1st.
3 and 4 year old classes: Children must turn 3 or 4 by September 1st.
Registration
Pre-registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be held in February and March. A non-refundable registration fee of $50 is due at the time of registration.

Calendar
Bright Star Preschool follows closely the Douglas County School System calendar. Classes will be held August 2010 through May 2011.
Program Enhancements
Throughout the school year, Bright Star Preschool will hold special programs to enrich the curriculum. These are celebrations culminating a curriculum unit or honoring a special day. Planned events include, and are not limited to, Grandparent's Day dessert, Pumpkin Parade & Party, Thanksgiving Day Family Feast, Happy Birthday Jesus Party, Dinos with Dad, Valentine's Party, Seussical Celebration, Easter Egg Hunt and Party, Mother's Day Tea, Transportation Day and Water Day.
Additionally, several times a year, special In-house programs are presented for the children. Previous special programs have included a farm animal education specialist, community helpers, the Fire Safely House and local entertainers.
Chapel is conducted bi-weekly with our Bright Star UMC pastors. This is a treasured time when our preschoolers sing with our pastors, listen to age appropriate Bible stories with accompanying scripture and learn all about the Sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to attend.
Inclement Weather
In the event that school closes due to inclement weather, announcements will be made on local radio and television stations between 6:30am and 8:00am. We will close school if the Douglas County School System suspends classes.
