volunteers
Volunteers are very important to us! We would not be successful without the cooperative efforts of our consignors AND volunteers.
To thank you, every volunteer who works a minimum of 4 hours, will earn a pass to the Preview Sale. Earn an additional pass by working additional shifts or helping to publicize the sale. Place yard signs and distribute flyers to kid-friendly places (ie. play groups, MOPS, library, storytime and community bulletin boards) or to friends, neighbors and family.
ALL Volunteers shop 30 minutes early!
Below is a brief description of the tasks you can expect during the various shifts throughout the sale. Generally, the work consists of assisting other consignors with check-in, sorting merchandise, assisting customers on the floor or assisting customers at check-out.
- Set-up: helping to assemble racks and get the sales floor ready to receive merchandise
- Check-in: helping consignors bring in their items, screening items, and assisting with racking
- Sales set-up: ensuring all clothing, toys, equipment and other items are in the correct areas on the sales floor
- Sale: assisting shoppers on the floor, at check-out, pull tags and sort, helping customers to their cars with their purchases and re-racking as necessary/tidying up the sales floor
- Door security: checking items as people leave to make sure everything has been purchased
- Pick-up: sorting unsold items for consignors to pick up and helping consignors carry merchandise to their vehicles
- Donation delivery: taking any unsold items left after pick up to designated charities
- Tear-down: in the end, helping to dismantle racks, tidy up and put everything away until next year!
